DOMINICAN FACELESS DOLL

The Dominican faceless dolls are originally created by the Dominican artist Liliana Mera Limé, but today this dolls are created by thousands of artists. They are called “Muñecas Limé” or “Muñecas sin rostro”. The faceless dolls are traditionally made of red clay and then painted colorfully, but some could be made of ceramic and other brightly colored clays. They wear traditional outfits, usually having baskets or bonnets on their heads, and carrying pots, flower bouquets or some small animal in their hands.

These lovely dolls are a true symbol of the Dominican Republic, as it reflects the Dominican mixture of ethnicities, races and cultures. For all those reasons, they have become a must-have souvenir for everyone passing through the country and for many of its residents.

DOMINICAN SIGARS ARE THE BEST

Dominican tobacco already has a great reputation, it is a delicate product which is not easy to preserve and maintain, so make sure you are careful about where you buy it. To guarantee the best taste and state of conservation, the advice is that you buy them in specialized stores or stores which have a special area to handle the cigars and keep them at the right temperature.

Cigars differ in volume and length. The thicker the cigar, the richer the variety of tobacco leaves, which means that the taste of inhaled smoke is fuller and more saturated. The time it takes to smoke it depends on the length of the cigar.
A good cigar should be smooth, elastic and without gaps. By lightly pressing on a cigar, you can determine if the cigar is wet or dry enough. Aroma will also help you to choose a cigar according to your taste: high quality specimens have flavor of spices, wood, honey, vanilla, nuts, flowers or chocolate.
